The neuroscientist Francisco Varela predicted that the rediscovery of Asian philosophy, particularly Buddhist philosophy, would create a Second Renaissance that could rival the importance of as the rediscovery of Greek thought which sparked the first European renaissance.

We believe that this Second Renaissance is already happening now, creating many mergers between Eastern and Western philosophy, science, and health, among other cultural areas.
